Martin Webber has dedicated his working career to helping developing and emerging economies to achieve sustainable growth that benefits large portions of their populations.
He believes that this is best achieved through sound business solutions, through a well-informed society, and by a public sector that makes wise decisions as to how to target and effectively carry out its own role in encouraging investment, business activity and a competitive workforce.
Mr. Webber has worked in more than 60 countries. He has worked with business, governments, associations, academics and researchers to improve the performance of business, industry sectors and economies. He is a highly-regarded leader in developing and implementing effective strategies to develop competitiveness, enterprise and value chains; and effective dialogue between business and government.
Mr. Webber is co-owner of J.E. Austin Associates, a Washington-based consulting firm. Through almost 600 assignments in more than 110 countries, J.E. Austin’s mission has always been to help populations to increase their wealth and well-being through productive, responsible business activity. The company believes that good strategy, market linkage, well-selected entry points and empowered implementation by stakeholders can jump start a virtuous circle of investment, entrepreneurship and market success. This success can benefit millions of people.
