The author grew-up in a military family with two older brothers and a dog. Although they did not travel extensively like other military families they did spend several years in a small English village where the author, at a young age, experienced a nation moving away from a terrible war - World War II.
Where small bunkers sat deserted in fields, blackout curtains still hung on windows and deserted bombed-out buildings were overgrown with vines. The author’s imagination grew listening to war stories from their father and how their mother’s brother had found and lost his true love while fighting in France.
All these experiences feed an imagination of possibilities and ‘what ifs’ - leading to the Cellomaker series.
As time went on the author's imagination pulled her to a new series -The Mind over Magic series. An echo of what her mother went through as she fell victim to Altimzers, remembering secrets of the past, but always having a sense of humor about her part in the history of her life. Growing old was always an adventure you had no control over.
