A writer with 20+ years experience in the music industry, Andrea has penned songs for such artists as Faith Hill, Julianne Hough, and Jimmy Wayne and has worked at companies including Universal Music Publishing, EMI, and Almo-Irving.
Andrea is the author of Popular Lyric Writing: 10 Steps to Effective Storytelling, a staple text for songwriting programs at Belmont University in Nashville, Berklee College of Music, and University of Southern California Thornton School of Music.
Her online courses and video series have garnered Music Educator’s Grammy Nominations, and the prestigious Gold Telly Award for non-broadcast education videos.
Andrea began her staff-writing career in Nashville in 1998. With a classical piano background and a bachelor of music from Berklee College of Music, she spent a decade honing her songwriting and collaboration skills, working as a demo singer, and preparing for a solo release of her own in 2006.
While in Nashville, Andrea began teaching courses for Berklee College of Music’s online program. She later authored “Commercial Songwriting Techniques,” a lyric and music-writing 12-week course, part of the undergraduate songwriting degree. In 2007, Andrea accepted an invitation to help design and establish the songwriting courses of the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
