Prashant Vaze is a British writer, environmentalist and policy wonk. He writes YA science fiction with an environmental theme, and also popular science/economics books. Prashant explores areas such as climate change, technology , and the nature of economic progress.
Prashant was born in Nagpur, India, and moved to the UK as an infant. He studied biology at Oxford University and then agricultural economics. Early in his career, he worked as a government economist and policymaker, chiefly on environmental, statistical, and regulatory matters. After leaving the civil service, he worked in the consumer movement and environmental NGOs on energy and climate issues.
His two non-fiction works explore how to cost-effectively reduce greenhouse gas emissions and community energy. His novel The Rising Tide examines climate change from the perspective of Aria Lovelace.
Prashant lives in Goa, India.
