Tony Stoltzfus

Tony has spent several decades coaching leaders to encounter God in their most difficult moments, based on a lifetime of engaging God in his own pain and loss. He developed the Encounter Coaching method (detailed in the book, The Invitation), where change is created by asking Jesus questions that impact the heart, instead of relying on effort and self-discipline. He has started multiple coaching organizations, including an NGO has provided roughly 60,000 hours of coaching to leaders in emerging nations. Tony is acknowledged as a thought leader and founding figure in the Christian coaching movement since 1999.

Tony is the author of 21 books on coaching, leadership, the emotional brain and studying scripture as story, as well as many multimedia resources and training courses. For more on his work visit:

He lives in blazingly hot Redding, CA with his wife of 35 years, a dog who worships her, and a constantly breaking sprinkler system.
