Erno Rossi

Erno Rossi was born in a shack by a railroad track and listened to the trains roll by. Some trains would try to huff him, some would try to snuff him and some would try to spit in his eye. Born to an American mother from Punxsutawney Pennsylvania and an Italian father from Ancona Italy, Erno survived the great depression with a plan never to be poor again. It worked. But no one believed that a child of the depression could pay for his own education through 5 years of high school, 5 years of university and teachers college and one year for his masters degree from Michigan State University.

Teaching high school history paid the bills while Erno worked on a number of book manuscripts. Full Moon sold around the world. White Death-The Blizzard of '77 captured the American and Canadian experience during the Blizzard of '77 and Erno was honored with a Juno nomination for his work. Crystal Beach-The Good Old Days chronicled the 100 year history of the Crystal Beach Amusement Park, the American dream that came true in Canada. He continues to write about his famous lusty yellow Labrador retriever, King Tut Gunner who started the sport of dog jumping over water and set two water records. A memoir is almost ready that deals with the near miraculous work of his mother who raised 4 sons while she nursed her husband dying of ALS.

Erno and his wife Elaine raised two daughters, Cynthia and Lisa who are happily employed in Toronto.
