I am a Regents' Professor at the University of New Mexico and labor arbitrator. My new book, "Shoes Along the Danube" is based on true events that occurred in Hungary involving members of two families whom I knew, one Jewish & the other Gentile. It takes place during the 1944 siege of Budapest, holocaust, the post-war communist struggle and finally a marriage torn asunder by exile. The book has been endorsed and recommended by the American Hungarian Federation.
