I'm a former journalist who worked for United Press International, the Watonga, Okla., Republican; the Duncan, Okla. Banner; and the Lawton, Okla. Constitution.

I am also a retired journalism professor who taught at Oklahoma State University, Utah State University and the University of Texas at Arlington. Until recently, I owned a hay farm in Stephens County, Okla., and travel extensively with my wife in the U.S. and abroad.
