Ann Scott

Ann Scott (nee Gowers), was born in London in 1938. She married Roger Scott in 1963 and has since lived and worked in Uganda, Northern Ireland, and Australia: for the past 30 years in Brisbane. She holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Canberra and a PhD in Government from the University of Queensland (UQ). She has worked as a public servant in Brisbane and Canberra, was awarded the Australian Public Service Medal in 2000. She retired in 2004 and is now an adjunct professor in the school of History, Philosophy, Religion and Classics at UQ. Ann Scott has written extensively on public policy and administrative history, and recently published her second book, a biography of neurologist William Richard Gowers, with co-authors Professors Mervyn Eadie and Andrew Lees.
