Marcelo J. Borges is Professor of History and the Boyd Lee Spahr Chair in the History of the Americas at Dickinson College, where he teaches Latin American history and migration history. Trained in migration, comparative, Latin American, and transatlantic history, his writings consider history from multiple scales, with special interest in historical experiences in contexts of mobility. His current work combines migration history and the history of emotions to explore migrants’ transnational lives and the ways in which societies around the world have reacted to immigration over time. He is the co-editor (with Madeline Y. Hsu) of the book series Studies of World Migrations (University of Illinois Press).
