Charles W. Holmes

Chuck Holmes is a former Air Force pilot with over 7,000 flying hours and 236 combat missions over Vietnam. He completed his college degree while in the Air Force. After retiring from the Air Force he obtained a master's degree and Ph.D. from Florida State University. He worked with a consulting firm in Washington, D.C. for three years and returned to academe as senior research scientist, and later director, of the Aviation Research Center at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University of Daytona Beach. He then accepted an appointment in economics at Bainbridge College, a unit of the University System of Georgia, and now holds the position of Professor of Economics Emeritus. He and his wife Merelyn, coauthor of Big BUF, live in a waterfront condo in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
