Kathy King has been playing with beads for over 15 years but became truly addicted after being introduced to bead weaving in 1999. Kathy's love of the tiny beads comes from the endless design possibilities they provide and the challenge to design something new when she sits down to play. Prior to beading, Kathy earned an engineering degree and served in the military before getting married and moving to NC. She turned her love of beads into a business after deciding to stay home after having her first child. Kathy sells her jewelry at local art shows and has also taught classes at local bead stores and beading societies.
Kathy's work has appeared in Bead and Button and Beadwork magazines. She also won 2nd Place in the Seed Bead Jewelry category of Bead and Button's Bead Dreams competition in 2009, in addition to being a finalist in 2007 and 2008. Kathy lives in Cary, NC with her husband and two children, where she also enjoys reading, running and all kinds of paper crafts. You can contact her through her website www.kathykingjewelry.com.
