Simon J. Cook is an independent scholar and intellectual historian. His primary research concerns late-Victorian and Edwardian scholarship and these days he is particularly interested in the history of historical (and prehistorical) thought and the role of ideas of the mind in the moral and social sciences. He was born in London, spent too many years at Cambridge, UK, taught at Duke University, USA, but now lives - together with various cats, guinea pigs, his partner and numerous children - in a small village in Israel situated just left of the end of the world.
