Jeffrey Dean Lindsay

Jeffrey D. Lindsay is a registered U.S. patent agent, an inventor with over 100 U.S. patents, the former Corporate Patent Strategist of Kimberly-Clark Corporation, and the lead author of the new John Wiley & Sons book, Conquering Innovation Fatigue: Overcoming the Barriers to Personal and Corporate Success with coauthors Cheryl Perkins and Mukund Karanjikar. Jeff is Director of Solution Development at Innovationedge (www.innovationedge.com) in Neenah, Wisconsin, a consulting firm that helps companies strengthen innovation and intellectual asset strategy.

Jeff has a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Brigham Young University, where he was a National Science Foundation Graduate Fellow. Jeff also has seven years of experience in academia as a faculty member (Assistant and then Associate Professor) at the Institute of Paper Science and Technology on the Georgia Tech campus in Atlanta, where he was named Teacher of the Year in 1993 at IPST. In 1994, Jeff joined the R&D community at Kimberly-Clark Corporation and was named Corporate Patent Strategist at K-C in 2001. Jeff helped K-C build new patent estates in areas such as RFID, new tissue and feminine care products, business methods, and other areas. Jeff also worked with management to create a community of practice in intellectual assets that brings together Legal, management, and the technical community to strengthen best practices, increase skills, and network. Jeff is author of numerous publications, including many defensive publications as part of an expanded approach to intellectual assets he helped drive at K-C.

Jeff is chair of the Forest Bioproducts Division of AIChE, where he works with industry and academia in advancing knowledge in the engineering issues around bioproducts, including paper technology, biorefineries, and biomass engineering.
