David Krolick

David Krolick. 1954- . Born in Chicago. He started playing pool at 12 and for years spent every free moment at the local pool room. As a young adult he found that the time required to play top-notch pool conflicted with a job and family. After several changes, David ultimately began work as a horseshoer. He graduated from the Midwest Horseshoeing School in Macomb, Illinois in 1981 and served an apprenticeship with a well known and well respected farrier. He specialized in sport horses, stadium jumpers and a variety of show horses. David wrote Shoeing Right: Advice To Horse Owners From A Working Farrier in 1990. It was well received by owners, fellow farriers, as well as veterinarians. Shoeing Right was also used in college level Animal Science classes.

Due to illness, David retired from horseshoeing in 1996. Shortly thereafter he started playing pool again and won a local 9 ball tournament after only a few days of play. He participated in Billiard Congress of America leagues in Albuquerque, NM and finished in the top 3 for match win percentage. The BCA team he played on finished 13th out of more than 700 teams.

In 2001 he was given a sponsorship deal to play in 15 tournaments a year. He competed in many major events including US Open 9 Ball Championships, Derby City Classics, Legends of One-Pocket, Glass City Opens, Super Billiards Expo, and numerous other pro tournaments. In 2007, David retired from the pro circuit when he decided to move to the pool mecca of the world: the Philippines. He is now back in Albuquerque, New Mexico with his beautiful Filipino wife and son.
