See our new book -- American Trophies: How US POWs Were Surrendered to North Korea, China and Russia by Washington's "Cynical Attitude"

www.kpows.com

It's based on information uncovered during my almost 25 years of investigating the fate of Korean War POWs, plus disturbing new data from my partner John Zimmerlee, POW case expert and son of a missing US aviator.

We're continuing the investigation online by offering unsolved mysteries involving men missing from Korea for crowdsourcing at www.kpows.com

My determination to get to the bottom of this issue began when I first realized the US government was not telling the truth about what happened to these missing heroes. I was a young investigative reporter then, but only a few years removed from Army service commanding a guard post in the DMZ between North and South Korea. I couldn't believe GIs could have been kept behind in North Korea, China or Russia -- but they were. Now we need to expose the truth and press the government to make getting them back -- whether perished or surviving -- a top priority.

A witness to disasters from hurricanes to forest fires, I experienced terrorism firsthand on 9/11 while living in downtown Manhattan. My interest in terrorism and domestic security goes back many years before that.

As President of Orcinus Solutions, I help clients increase the value of their enterprises through strategic planning, business development, and decision support for capital raising and M&A. For private equity groups requiring due diligence and federal market intelligence, I provide investigative, domain and financial expertise.

Previously I was a managing director at boutique investment banks where I focused on transactions in the defense/security industry. Prior to that I was COO of the Chesapeake Innovation Center, America's first business accelerator for homeland and national security. My experience includes serving as a senior executive at several venture capital-backed companies; principal investigator/program manager for a contract with a major U.S. intelligence agency; and an Army officer in infantry and special forces units. I'm a graduate of Harvard, magna cum laude; the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism; various military courses and DHS CERT training.

Aside from my homeland security textbook, I have co-authored two market reports on the security sector: "Beyond Aviation: The Emerging Ground Transportation Security Market" and "The Business of Connecting Dots: the $1 Billion Intelligence and Security Informatics/Analytics Market."
