Reginald Shareef holds the PhD in Public Administration & Policy and is a Professor and member of the Graduate Faculty at both Radford University and Virginia Tech. He and his wife Faye have been married 34 years and are the parents of two children - -Malik (an attorney and NFL Players Agent) and Amirah (a pediatrician). His daughter-in-law (Lauren) is a reporter/editor with The Washington Post. Dr. Shareef's area of interest is organization and societal change and he has written extensively on these subjects in academic journals and the public domain. He has two favorite sayings. The first is from the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH): "There is compensation for the loss of anything but God". The second is from the Philosopher of Science, Karl Popper: While animal and pre-scientific knowledge grow mainly through the elimination of those holding unfit hypothesis, scientific criticism makes our theories perish in our stead, eliminating our mistaken ideas before such beliefs lead to our own elimination."
