I usually go by the name "Al," and I'm a writer located in Vermont. I retired from a career as an aerospace engineer in 2006 and moved here from Dayton Ohio. This is a writer-friendly area, and I'm a member of a writer's group with a number of published authors. Middlebury College, one of the nation's best liberal arts college, is nearby. That adds to the writing climate.

In addition to writing, I am an amateur astronomer, and member of the Vermont Astronomical Society. I lecture on astronomy in Vermont, New York, and New Hamphsire. I also enjoy skiing and snowmobiling in the winter, and golf and sailing in the summer.

I'm in a commited relationship with a wonderful lady named Joan. Together we've been on four cruises, plus other adventures. Joan supports my writing, as well as all my other endeavors.

My e-novel, The Golden Needle, is my first venture into the e-publishing world. I find it interesting that I am now the VP of advertizing for my novel. This is a paradigm shift, and I'm still a bit uneasy with this role.
