Co-authoring Roots of the Vines” with Ronald Krivosha gave me an opportunity to fulfill a lifelong dream of mine to write a novel. Our protagonist, Maggie Graham, is an orphan who is raised from birth in the Boston Catholic Orphanage. She grows up to discover romance, an age-old vendetta and surprising secrets. Whether or not you grew up in a family unit, or in a foster home or an orphanage, you will go along for the ride as Maggie searches for her roots. The underlying life messages inherent throughout this multi-generational story will give you cause to examine your own life choices and family issues.
My co-author and I and our spouses met by chance for the first time on a Saturday morning at Heidi’s shoe store in downtown Carmel, California. I tell the story behind the story at Book Club presentations and Fundraising events, Rotary Club meetings, women’s groups, men’s groups, and book signings.
