Dr. Bob Payne was born in Detroit, Michigan, the youngest of four children. He accepted Christ as Savior when he was 12 years old.
He attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina, and completed his Bachelor’s degree at Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, Iowa. He also earned a Th.M. and Th.D. (summa cum laude) from Andersonville Theological Seminary in Camilla, Georgia. He received further graduate training at International Baptist Seminary in Chandler, AZ.
Dr. Payne has taught various Biblical and theological subjects at the college and graduate level in North America and overseas.
With 37 years of experience in the ministry, Dr. Bob Payne has dedicated his life to shepherding God's people. He has served as a pastor in various locations, including Nebraska, Michigan, New Brunswick (Canada), and Connecticut. Since 2017, he has been the pastor of the historic Baptist Church of Danbury, Connecticut. He has also been the moderator and an officer in the Independent Baptist Fellowship of North America (IBFNA).
Dr. Payne has been married for 37 years and has a daughter and three grandchildren.
