Rodney Allen

Rodney Allen was born on March 31, 1975, in Washington, DC. He is the only child. He was raised by his Mother ( Sherry Allen) and Grandparents ( Anna L. Allen, Amos Allen). Growing up in the inner city, Rodney gravitated to sports heavy, where he excelled in Basketball, Football and was a good volleyball player. Northwest, where most call Uptown was his domain. He traveled from court to court, hood to hood looking for games. Although sports were his passion, where he made plenty of friends growing up. He did have to come home at some point.

Where he loved eating his Mom's cooking, watching his shows on TV and busying himself with the gift of writing. He wrote poems, rap songs and articles. He won numerous poetry contests. The articles he wrote were so outstanding, the school named him " The editor in chief" of the school newspaper at a very young age.

Rodney knew he had a gift, but it wasn't his passion. He realized it when he didn't have any money to buy his Mom a Mother's Day gift. So being the creator he is, he wrote his Mom a heartfelt poem. She read it and immediately started crying. She called her Mom, and read it to her as well.

Fast forward to March 31, 2015, Rodney wrote his first book called " SLY" Vol 1, that's destined to be one of the best reads in 2020. Rodney's creativity and storytelling are something to behold, in this captivating book. In 2017, he wrote a play. A spiritual comedy called " 1+1=3, with God leading the way, where he Hope's to start casting during the fall of 2020. Currently, Rodney is working on a book named "3 The Hard Way" and a daily devotional named " Experiencing God's Presence, While Finding the God in Me". Those projects are coming soon to a home near you. Be also on the lookout for "SLY" Vol. 2, the world can't get enough of SLY.

Rodney made his debut in acting in "Mind Games" written by his good friend Derrick Philson. Rodney is extremely excited and grateful for the opportunity to have a role in this great play where he learned so much from Derrick and the other cast members. Rodney is just getting started, his writing and creativity is taking off and soaring, as his gift from God is turning into an undeniable passion.
