Thomas Del Prete

Born in Providence, Rhode Island in a neighborhood rich in immigrant history, my Catholic upbringing and Italian heritage, reflected most in the food culture we happily indulged in, filled my sense of who I was as a child. Many summers on the staff of a Scout camp, Camp Yawgoog, helped form my youthful self.

My education nurtured my love of history and literature and learning, and my interest in the purposes and practices of education itself, leading me to teach secondary history as well as English, and to pursue doctoral study.

When not reading, writing, or supporting education work, I am likely having fun with family, friends, or grandkids, working out at the local Y, enjoying sports, the outdoors, or a cultural adventure, or trying to cook pasta fagioli like my mom did.
