Kurt Mitchell -Artist/Writer

Kurt Mitchell is an independent artist and writer who has been in and around Chicago publishing for over thirty years. His work as an editorial illustrator has graced the pages of The Chicago Reader, The Chicago Tribune, Crain's Chicago Business, The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, and the Chicago Sun-Times.

After twelve years as a video game developer (The Tale of Orpheo's Curse; Beavis & Butthead; Axis & Allies; Diplomacy; MechAssault; MechAssaut 2: Lone Wolf), Kurt has returned to print publishing, bringing his writing and drawing talents together in his independently produced comics, graphic novels, and short story anthologies. His newest properties, "The Tao of Stubbie Pencil", and "The Surreal Tao of Stubbie Pencil", are now being shown for the first time. They will be joined shortly by the growing stable of works including: Poor Ralph (children's); the soon-to-be added Cannonboy, The Pigeon Eater, Oxbluud (graphic novels), and Scratched from Dreams (short stories)...

Kurt Mitchell is currently the property of two cats who allow him to live with them on the Southwest side of Chicago, where they grant him leave to write and draw at their bidding in exchange for the honor of feeding them, nuzzling them, and keeping them warm and dry.
