RUSSELL TOMAR is a physician-scientist with accreditation in Clinical Pathology, Immunopathology, and Allergy and Immunology. He has published over seventy research studies, co-authored The Manual of Clinical Immunology (two editions) and Quality Reengineering of Healthcare; and edited and/or wrote multiple sections for medical text books. He earned degrees in Journalism and Medicine from George Washington University.
Prior to his retirement, he served as Chair of Pathology at Stroger Hospital of Cook County and Professor of Pathology at Rush University. Previously, he held Professorships in the Departments of Pathology, Medicine, and Population Health Sciences at the University of Wisconsin and in the Departments of Pathology, Medicine, and Microbiology at the State University of New York, Syracuse. He resides with his wife and their border terrier in Madison Wisconsin and Chicago, Illinois.
