Crying Wind is my tribal name, I was adopted into the Kiowa tribe, I also write under the name April Knight. I spent many years working with the Navaho Indians in New Mexico and was given the CHIEF award.
I've been a published writer since I was thirteen years old. I believe having a miserable childhood and being bullied in school made me strong, made me a survivor and made me a writer and provided endless material for my books. The first book I wrote (Crying Wind) became a best seller, was translated into 15 languages and has been continuously in print for 35 years. I've written 50 books and over 1,000 short stories.
My latest book is "Sweet Dreams-50 Romantic Bedtime Stories for Big Girls by April Knight, Oak Tree Books.
I'm currently writing a mystery novel.
I've lived in Hawaii, Alaska and Australia and spend my free time riding horses.
