Dennis Baker was first published in 1998 in The MacGuffin (Volume XV, Number III) with his short story “Vacation for the Dead.” After college, his writing paused as he pursued a career in technology and a surprising rise in acting. Today, Dennis works as a manager in cloud architecture, balancing a professional life in tech with a lifelong passion for storytelling.
In the early days of online video, Dennis became one of the internet’s first viral creators, reaching millions with comedic shorts he wrote and produced. His sudden visibility led to features on Fox and in *The Wall Street Journal*, ultimately drawing interest from Hollywood. He met with major industry figures, secured the same talent agent who represented Robert Downey Jr., and was offered a lead role in a DreamWorks film as well as a potential TV series. Although the projects didn’t materialize, the experience shaped his creative path.
Dennis returned to writing with The Ghost of Colorado, inspired by his childhood in a haunted house and his lifelong interest in the paranormal. The book explores local ghost stories through a critical‑thinking lens. In 2018, he launched a new fiction series, The Wormwood Initiative, before turning his focus back to faith‑based writing.
His latest work, King David and I, reflects a return to his spiritual roots, exploring the life of one of the Bible’s most compelling figures. Dennis has discussed his creative journey and future faith‑centered projects on Janet Parshall’s *In the Market* (Moody Radio), where he also shared stories from his collaboration with Disney’s legendary director John Cherry (*Ernest Goes to Camp*).
Believing that timing rests in God’s hands, Dennis is stepping into a new season of writing with renewed purpose. More faith‑driven books are on the way along with a new exciting Sci-Fi series called The Mysterious Lives of Milton Morocco.
