Jean Vives

"Jean founded Ice Box Books in 2006 that resulted in the publishing of seven Kindle books on outdoor subjects. His ski book “Ski Randonnee!” was published to rave reviews in the Aspen Times. Prior books such as “Backcountry Skier” were published by Human Kinetics Press in 1999. His “Zen of Skiing” was used as a textbook by the Aspen Ski Corp for their Ski Zen Courses and appeared in Powder Magazine. His articles have appeared in Outside, Powder and Ski. His research on high altitude physiology was awarded the Charles S. Houston Research Grant from the Wilderness Medical Society in 2000. His online presence includes Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Amazon. He has extensive worldwide travel experience in the mountains of the world. His doctorate in physical education led him to teach high altitude physiology at Kathmandu University, Nepal, while leading student trips to Everest Base Camp. With Vives Publishing he came out with “Dexter the War Dog” in 2016, which is the basis for the present screenplay “Cisco”. He lives outside Boulder, Colorado.
