Since 2004, David Gracer has been an adjunct instructor at the Community College of Rhode Island, where he teaches writing, literature, and public speaking. He’s also been a tutor and substitute public school teacher. He uses a variety of methods to make writing and the entire learning process engaging and even fascinating. In addition to the books he has already written, Dave is currently busy organizing his working methods into a manuscript, entitled The Visceral Method: A New Way Forward.
In late May 2017, Dave spoke at a national homeschooling conference, and this experience helped him recognize that homeschooling families might be intrigued by his methods and skills.
Dave’s other career involves entomophagy, which means using insects as a real food-source for people. As he learned more and more about this unusual subject, Dave realized how our relationships to Nature (and to insects in particular) are a window into our history and our future. His activities in this subject have allowed him to enjoy a wide range of experiences and adventures, including his epic trek across the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, as part of a National Geographic TV special.
