Jonathan Slevin

Jonathan Slevin was born in Washington, DC to Lithuanian-Germany Jewish and Scots-Irish parents. After some traveling around, he has lived in the DC area for much of his adult life. Following an early newspaper career, he was later brought in as acting president and publisher of The Washington Times in 2009, to restructure the newspaper during industry turmoil. After drastic downsizing and moving to a primary digital focus, in the midst of ownership changes, he got restructured too. A few years as a real estate investor followed, and then he turned to his earlier love of books. After writing non-fiction and fiction while working at various jobs to support a family of six, he is now writing fulltime–his own books as well as the book projects of others.

Jonathan has appeared on Oprah, Geraldo, Entertainment Tonight and enjoyed other TV and radio engagements, and has been reviewed on the front page of The Washington Post Bookworld section.

As for other activities and interests, family life worked especially well when a fifth little one joined the litter. Patches, a Jack Russell-Labrador mix, mainly raised his four children. Jonathan loves to put pen to paper and stories into print, and enjoys friends and family, children and grandchildren, running and hiking, books and movies and theatre, as well as sushi, hummus and ice cream, though not when mixed together.
