. . . Marvin Arnold grew up during WWII, born in Oklahoma but lived wherever his Air Force father was stationed; like the air research base at Wright Field. The author attended the Oklahoma City University and the University of Dallas. He became a licensed civilian pilot at age nineteen, served on active duty with the Naval Air Reserve as an ASW aircrewman and later an officer in the Guard.

The author currently holds a commercial license with instrument, multi-engine and seaplane ratings, owned and flown dozens of different types of aircraft throughout his years of flying, one of the early members of the CAF, flew air charter Cessna/Beech twin engine aircraft including the Douglas DC3 for DFW based Greater Southwest Aviation, was CEO of Flight Dynamics FAA flight training school and fixed base operation at Amon Carter Field in Fort Worth. His two books on flying are reflections on many of his own aviation experiences.

. . . As a design engineer, Arnold worked in the cockpit and environmental design groups at Chance Vought, General Dynamics, Lockheed and as Chief of Avionics Engeering for Aerospatiale. He is a long time veteran of the aerospace industry and systems design engineer.

. . . In high school the author purchased his first Lincoln, a used 1939 Zephyr Coupe, which began his long time interest in the Lincoln Marque. As a hobby, he owned many makes and models of antique and collector automobiles and personally restored dozens of different models of Lincolns and Continentals including 1941 thru 1948 Continental Coupes. The author is a member of the Society of Automotive Historians and a certified Grand National Antique Automobile Clubs of America judge. His book on early Lincolns has been nationally recognized as the eminent authority on the early years of the Lincoln Motor Company. His book on Lincolns and magazine articles on Classic Cars reflect his many hours of research on the Lincoln and Continental automobiles as well as the men and organizations that created them.
