Kate Hancock

Kate Fox is a writer whose poems have appeared in the New Ohio Review, West Branch, Kenyon Review Online, Pleiades, Valparaiso Review, and Green Mountains Review, among others. Her most recent book, The Company Misery Loves, published by Sheila-Na-Gig Editions will be released in July 2024. Her chapbook, The Lazarus Method, was published under the name of Kate Hancock by Kent State University Press as part of the Wick Poetry Chapbook Series, and a second chapbook, Walking Off the Map, was published by Seven Kitchens Press in Cincinnati. Her poem “No Word for Those Who Lose a Child” earned second place in Cutthroat’s 2022 Joy Harjo Poetry Competition. She earned her Ph.D. in American literature with an emphasis in creative writing from Ohio University. Kate lives in Athens, Ohio, with her partner Robert DeMott and two English setters, Katie and Patch.
