Tommy Thompson

Tommy grew up in a military family. His Dad was in the Air Force 26 years. Tommy was born in Canada, moved to Portland, Oregon at the age of 2, lived there 6 years before his Dad was stationed in England. After living in England 6 years, Tommy's Dad was stationed in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Tommy was 12 years old at that time and 8 years later at the age of 20 his Dad retired from the Air Force. The reason for stating this is because in the military respect for authority is not a suggestion. Nor is it an option. It is a requirement with a strong emphasis on "respect". Tommy grew up in a family with 6 siblings and respect for parental authority was not just a nice thing to practice nor was it optional. It was a requirement with a strong emphasis on "respect." Tommy believes that over the last several decades general respect for authority in this great country that we live in has been constantly under attack, and has been done so very successfully.

The single reason for stating all of the above is to point out that it should not be surprising to know that when Tommy went to Bible School in his twenty's and was taught that respect for the authority of the Bible was not a suggestion, nor just a nice thing to practice, but rather a requirement with a strong emphasis on "respect," he paid very close attention to those specific teachings which are found throughout the entire Bible.

Over the last 40 plus years Tommy has witnessed, as a Christian with deep respect for biblical authority, this very respect for biblical authority diminish gradually and drastically. In recent years all of us have witnessed a significant increase of public promotion of atheism, complete rejection of biblical authority, and the very unfortunate results that have effected literally millions of lives in these United States of America.

The last, but not least, statement in this biography is that even though Tommy has written this book titled, "Is God Capable," Tommy does not consider himself, in any way shape or form, a biblical scholar but rather a very serious student of the Word of the Lord, otherwise known as the Bible. Also, Tommy, at the writing of this biography, has been married very close to 46 years, has 3 children and 14 grandchildren. God bless America!
