Daniel A. Miller

Daniel A. Miller, JD, is a bestselling author, speaker, and thought leader on letting go of control, practicing acceptance, and navigating life with greater ease and fulfillment. His books include Losing Control, Finding Serenity—a Foreword Reviews Book of the Year Award Finalist—and The Gifts of Acceptance, named a Library Journal Best Wellness Book of the Year and a multiple-award winner from the Independent Book Publishers Association and Foreword Reviews, and his latest book, The Way of the Wave.

A self-described former “compulsive controller,” Danny was driven to succeed from an early age. He graduated with honors in business administration from UCLA and finished in the top five percent of his class at the UCLA School of Law. In his twenties, he became a popular real estate instructor in UCLA Extension, and in his thirties, he authored the critically acclaimed bestseller How to Invest in Real Estate Syndicates (Dow Jones-Irwin). He later founded the California Institute of Real Estate Education, which provided state-licensed training to thousands of real estate professionals.

Financial success came early. Danny advised celebrities and high-net-worth individuals and, by his mid-thirties, lived in the Old Bel Air section of Los Angeles. But for all his success and achievements, he had little sense of peace and serenity. He was imprisoned by his fears, anger, and anxieties and thus not open to the joys and wonders all around him.

After a long series of personal setbacks, Danny began a new life journey based on letting go of control and accepting people and things as they are. He surrendered to the ups and downs, twists and turns of life instead of resisting them and trying to control people and things.

Over many years, he learned effective tools and strategies for letting go of control and accepting “what is” with family and friends, as well as in sports, creative endeavors, and the workplace. In the process, he became an accomplished artist and earnest poet, a successful entrepreneur, a nationally ranked senior tennis player, a devoted husband, and a wiser parent—while cutting his work hours by more than half.

Danny found a different and more gratifying kind of success—an internal, core sense of well-being. Today, he writes and speaks about the profound freedom that comes from releasing control, practicing acceptance, and “going with the Wave.” His website features over 170 of his blog posts on the control, acceptance, and Wave dynamics, his poetry and paintings, and keynote speaker information.
