Steve Maltzman

Mike Benshoof has more than 20 years of experience in the home building industry. He started learning the industry from the ground up in his family's business. He then spent six years at NVR in production and sales management, before becoming the Director of Business Analysis for the Economics Group at National Association of Home Builders. Today Mike serves as Vice President of SMA Consulting, which provides management consulting and financial analysis for hundreds of builders every year.

Steve Maltzman is President of SMA Consulting (SMA), one of the leading providers of financial and business management services for builders and remodelers. SMA Consulting also provides the accounting and financial analyses for the 700 plus members of the NAHB's 20 Clubs annually. Steve is a CPA with over nineteen years experience working as a controller and chief financial offers for various building and remodeling firms. Steve is Past Chairman of the Business Management and Information Technology Committee for NAHB. In addition, Mr. Maltzman is a member of NAHB's Education Committee and a member of the American Institute of CPA's. He holds an MBA degree in accounting from Rutgers University and a BA from Dickinson College. He is the author of the Remodelers Cost of Doing Business Studies for NAHB's Remodelors Council as well as co-author of the NAHB Cost of Doing Business Study for the Single Family Builder and the ProBuilder Business Plan Guide.
