Phillip E. Jones

PHILIP JONES was born and brought up in the historic city of Chester and has always had a passion for both writing and discovering the history of his home city and his native country. He has previously had a series of local history articles published by the local newspaper, the Chester Chronicle and has edited a specialist dog magazine and been involved in establishing a number of internet sites. Since writing his first book The Illustrated History of Chester, Phillip has produced further works on Chester's eight Norman Earls, "To Hold By The Sword", a history of the city's long since demolished Medieval Castle, "In Search Of Chester's Medieval Castle" and a project looking at the historic landmark buildings and streets of his home city, titled "Building Chester".

Having completed these four local history projects, Phillip has subsequently produced a book on some of Britain's most notorious criminals entitled "British Serial Killers - Part One", featuring individuals such as Fred & Rosemary West, Myra Hindley & Ian Brady, as well as a number of other murderers who well deserve the title of serial killer. Phillip's most recent book project was his history of the British Empire, called "Mariners, Merchants And The Military Too", which looked at the emergence, development and ultimately the demise of the greatest colonial empire the world has ever known.
