Harmon S. Graves

Harmon S. Graves is a Colorado lawyer, and when not engaged in litigation for clients from all walks of

life he relishes the time he can devote to literary matters.

The Kaplinski book featured here was a collaboration with his long-time friend Buffalo Kaplinski: words

by Graves, paintings by Kaplinski. Following that effort, Mr. Graves wrote the text and composed the

music for a children’s book, I’m Only Three and Look at All the Things That I Can Do! (Dorrance Pub. Co.),

this time collaborating with his three-year old granddaughter: words by Stephanie, music by Graves.

Soon to be launched is Graves’ first historical novel which takes the reader back to the 1920s,

rumrunning on Vermont’s Lake Champlain, and into a federal courtroom where prosecution for violating

Prohibition’s enforcement act meets a vigorous defense with all the quirks and drama of a well-tried

lawsuit.

Mr. Graves resides in Cherry Hills Village, a suburb of Denver, Colorado, with his wife Nada. Both are

serious collectors of art of the West, they enjoy classical and jazz music, hiking trails in the foothills of

the Rocky Mountains, and they spend a portion of every summer in Grand Isle, Vermont at the family

summer homestead with their two children, three grandchildren, friends, and extended family.
