Larry R. Kalajainen

Larry R. Kalajainen was born and grew up in New Castle, PA. He has served pastorates in Sarawak, E. Malaysia, New Jersey, France (Paris,) Maine, and New York. He holds degrees from the University of Pittsburgh, Asbury Theological Seminary, Princeton Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. in New Testament/Early Christian History from Drew University. While serving as a pastor, he has also served as adjunct faculty in four seminaries and at the University of Paris XII. He has always been interested in helping congregations and interested secular people gain an adult (as opposed to 3rd-grade Sunday School)knowledge and appreciation for the Bible. His earlier works were primarily aimed at the use of the Bible in spiritual formation. His latest work, "The Bible Says: How Good is the Good Book," explores the nature of the Bible, why it is treated as authoritative, and how that authority is managed. He has also pursued an avocation as a fine art photographer, and enjoys cooking, cheesemaking, and making friends around good food and wine. He is married and the father of two daughters and four grandchildren.
