Richard S. Rounds

Richard S. Rounds has authored nonfiction books and presentations for decades, including Basic Budgeting Practices for Libraries. Quest for the Deepening Spirit is his first published book of poetry, though he has written poems for more than forty years. He is also a photographer, and his work illustrates the poems in the book. He continues to write. Rounds moved to Lake Havesu City, Arizona in the 1990s, and the beauty of the desert Southwestern U.S. continues to feature prominently in his work.

He was ordained as a Methodist minister in 1957. He served as a chaplain for Hospice of Havasu for nearly ten years and has assisted in providing pastoral servicers to St. Michel’s United Methodist Church and Grace Episcopal Church.

Rounds received a BA in Philosophy, and MA in Counseling, and an Ed.S in Educational Administration. He worked for 25 years in education, first with the Albuquerque Public Schools as teacher, counselor, high school principal and Assistant East Area Superintendent, and then the Albuquerque Technical-Vocational Institute, which provided adult level job preparation in a wide variety of vocations.

His varied career also included serving as a teaching fellow at the Center for Research in Vocational Education at Ohio State University; membership in the national Electric Utilities Technical Education Council; and membership of the Tonigan consulting team which assisted in establishing Navajo school districts on the Navajo Nation. Rounds is currently owner/partner in the counseling business, Rounds Center, LLC.
