Jim Brown

One of Louisiana’s most popular and best-selling authors returns with a new book of life living in the deep south, particularly in the Bayou state of Louisiana. In this sixth book by Jim Brown, he continues to offer analysis, commentary, and reflections of living a full life in the deepest of the deep southern states.

What follows is a somewhat autobiographical compilation of a novella (sort of), a review and commentary of massive federal governmental overreach, and a series of (the best of) columns written by Jim Brown over 20 years following twenty-eight years of service in public life. It’s a compilation (a gumbo if you wish) of insights, opinions, and salient observations of a fascinating life. --Lisburn Press Review

And extraordinary book that delves into the personal experiences of one of the South's most productive writers. Jim Brown reviews over 20 years of interpret inquiry into the crosshairs of multiple political, moral and philosophical issues facing Americans today.

Questions pile out of his writings. Is there a fiber of corruption and misconduct weaving through the fabric of the Justice Department and the FBI? How responsive are politicians to the world of the average American? How does city life compared to residing in small town USA? Can one imagine a world where you are stuck in prison? Does the good Lord speak directly to any of us? And just what constitutes good eating? What we learn is how far and wide Jim Brown's opinions can flow.

The reader will be attracted by Jim Brown’s novella that combines both fact and fiction. But the challenge is to determine just which is which. And he delves into the Kafka protagonist Joseph K who learns that “Without having done anything wrong was arrested one fine morning."

His personal stories and unbridled enthusiasm deliver to the reader a candid, informative, humorous, meditative, challenging and wise book. He candidly shares his successes and failures that capture special insights and clues for living. This will certainly be a unique reading experience.
