For many years I worked as a technician at a Public Television station. And I pursued an interest in religion. Eventually I got a PhD in comparative religion from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. It took ten years of night classes, but I made it.

Writing for me began in the 1980's with computer reviews. Then, in the nineties, the storm of writing for classes. Poetry came back into my life in my early sixties, and novels soon after. I wrote my first novel (Sister Clare's Lover) on a dare from a friend to take part in the National Novel Writing Month.

If you have the good fortune of a patient partner - as I have - writing can be a great companion in age. There are now five novels and a chapbook in the Catholic Tantra series, three books of poetry, and a book on intercessory prayer that came out of my dissertation.

May I suggest you take up your pen, as I have, to give your soul a way to sing?
