Frances Guerin

Frances Guerin completed her PhD in Cinema Studies at NYU in 2000, following an MA in Art History at University of Melbourne, and a BA (Hons) in English Language and Literature at University of Adelaide, Australia. She teaches film and visual culture at University of Kent, Canterbury. Frances lives in Paris.

Frances’s art criticism and other scholarly writing focuses on late-19th/early-20th century modernism, and 20th century avant-garde and experimental film, photography, painting, and other visual media.

Frances’s fiction and personal essays bring together her love of images and ongoing commitment to the issues that concern women in the 21st century.
