Greta De Jong

Greta de Jong is a professor in the Department of History at the University of Nevada, Reno, and the author of several books on African American struggles for justice. She writes in an accessible style with general audiences in mind. Her goal is to help readers to understand the origins and evolution of racism in the United States and to highlight the various forms that the freedom movement took in the twentieth century. She focuses especially on the part that grassroots activists and ordinary citizens have played, and continue to play, in these struggles.
