Gary Bonvillian, Ph.D., President Emeritus of Thomas University
Dr. Bonvillian joined Thomas University as President in July of 2006. During his time the school's enrollment doubled domestically, and grew to 1200 students in the Peoples Republic of China. Thomas operated three of only four government approved foreign programs in nursing in China as well as a baccalaureate in business.
Prior to Thomas, Dr. Bonvillian was Provost and VP of Academic Affairs at Keuka College from 2001 until 2006. Under his faculty leadership the school developed 18 satellite teaching locations in New York State and launched what became the largest foreign program operating in China with 3500 students at the time of his departure.
Dr. Bonvillian was Dean of the School of Business and Health Professions at Mesa University from 1999 until 2001. Prior to Mesa Dr. Bonvillian was a member of the founding faculty/administrators of Florida Gulf Coast University from 1996 until 1999. He was the Associate Dean in the College of Business and the founding Director of the Center for Leadership and Innovation at FGCU.
Dr. Bonvillian spent 20 years at Rochester Institute of Technology holding both administrative and faculty positions including Associate Dean in the College of Business.
Dr. Bonvillian was a member of the faculty in all five schools and a full professor in three.
Today, Dr. Bonvillian is the Senior Director of International Programs and Research for the Lotus Education Group in Xiamen, China.
