Karen Cochlovius

Born in South Africa, I worked as an exploration geologist in Africa for many years. While I worked, I began to write about offbeat characters I met that lived in deserted towns and on farms. My first novel, Desert Varnish, is a product of this. The dubious practice of science - whether it be within mineral exploration or medical genetics- serves as a common thread for my novels. My second novel, COLB, is now available.
