Christopher Murphy grew up in Cheshire, UK, schooled at Stonyhurst and Cambridge Univ,
became a pilot and yachtbroker, renovated houses, wrote and sold 3 novels with aviation themes and finally bought an old 40' yawl in S France, spending the next ten years on board in the Balearics. Two more main-stream novels followed (also from Secker and Warburg, London), then he got domesticated, married, and ended up in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and divorced. Despite a track record of 5 novels and some juicy reviews, he had to self-publish the next two novels. He became a cabinet-maker, composer, singer/song-writer, sculptor and authored a Self-Help book about why Self-Help books don't help!
