Kirk Dombrowski

Kirk Dombrowski is a Professor of Sociology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. For the last 25 years he has been working on issues of social inequality and how small scale issues of family, hope, thought, and action interweave with larger question of industrial resource development and capital accumulation. He teaches undergraduate courses on how to think about things that don't fit in...criminal behaviors, marginal groups, new social movements. At the doctoral level he teaches courses in research methods, criminology, and core-social theory, with a focus on public health and health disparities. Since 2013 he is the director of the REACH Lab -- a research shop dedicated to Research, Evaluation, and Analysis for Community Health (www.reach-lab.org). After many years in New York City, he is a close collaborator with Ric Curtis, Bilal Khan, Anthony Marcus, Ernie Drucker, and Travis Wendel as part of an interdisciplinary research team interested in issues of social health and social structure.
