Marilyn Beker

Marilyn Beker is the Senior Screenwriting Professor in the School of Film and Television at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. She has written extensively for all forms of media--especially television and film--and lectures internationally on screenwriting. She's passionate about original voice and independent film and champions positive world change through humanistic story telling.

"In my work as a writer and teacher, I've tried to help people understand that every life is filled with undreamed of possibilities, that words are powerful and can make a difference and that possessing talent is a great responsibility not to be taken lightly. If those of us who've been given the gift of artistic acumen were to truly realize the impact that gift could have on a world desperate for meaning and purpose, we would all make a firm commitment to use our talent to ease suffering and turn darkness to light."
