Ron Vannelli

Ron Vannelli is an American citizen with permanent residency in the United Kingdom. Most of his academic teaching and research life has been in the United Kingdom, with two years spent in Brazil.

He has: a BA in Biology from the University of Wyoming; studied Physical Anthropology under S.L. Washburn at the University of California, Berkeley; an MA in Social Science from San Jose State University and a PhD in Anthropology/History from the University of Reading (UK).

Professor Vannelli has taught: 'social theory', 'political sociology', 'bio-psychology', epistemology and 'human nature and behaviour' for over 25 years at Birmingham City University (BCU), Birmingham, United Kingdom. He was head of the Sociology Department at BCU between 1994 and 2001. He was also Faculty Director of Post Graduate Research between 1990 - 2006; he has supervised and examined a number of PhD students.

He is currently Professor Emeritus at BCU.
