Corey Anton

Corey Anton is Professor of Communication and Media Studies at Grand Valley State University and author of dozens of scholarly papers and book chapters. His research spans the fields of existential phenomenology, media ecology, semiotics, communicology, the philosophy of communication, and multidisciplinary communication theory.

Two-time winner of the Media Ecology Association's Erving Goffman Award, Anton received a "Best Book Award" in 2011, presented by the Philosophy of Communication Division of the National Communication Association. Anton also has won numerous teaching awards, including GVSU's "Pew Teaching Excellence Award" and the Graduate Student Association's "Outstanding Faculty Mentor" Award.

Past-President of the Media Ecology Association, Past-Chair of the Semiotics and Communication Division of the National Communication Association, and Past-Editor of the journal Explorations in Media Ecology, Anton is a Fellow of the International Communicology Institute, and he currently serves as Vice-President of the Institute of General Semantics.
