Caroline Joyce Simon

Caroline J. Simon, PhD, is a philosopher with a talent for making complex philosophical issues understandable to a broad audience. She is committed to reclaiming philosophy’s relevance to lived human experience. Her latest book, Muted Cry: A Witness to Affliction (Fortress Press, January 2026), is available for preorder. Two of her books, Bringing Sex into Focus: The Quest for Sexual Integrity and The Disciplined Heart: Love, Destiny, and Imagination, grapple with aspects of human affection. Her other publications explore topics at the intersection of philosophy, literature, and theology, as well as a wide range of issues in ethics and higher education. Dr. Simon spent twenty-five years teaching philosophy and is provost emeritus of Whitworth University in Spokane, WA, where she served as EVP and chief academic officer for seven years.
